Two-Way Contact Sync Between HubSpot and Shopify

  • This essentially means your HubSpot and Shoptify platforms will always be up-to-date with the most recent information about your customers

  • Previously, there was only one-way syncing from Shopify to HubSpot.

  • This sync will now send updates you make in HubSpot back to Shopify for the following fields
    • Accepts marketing
    • Accepts marketing updated at
    • First name
    • Last name
    • Address
    • Default address
    • Phone
    • Email
    • Tax exempt

  • To get started, go to:
    • Your Shopify integration settings and click “two-way sync” under the “data sync” section.
    • Then, follow the prompt to re-authenticate your account so that HubSpot can make sure they have the correct user permissions to update your information in Shopify.

Ensure Correct Access by Adding Users to Multiple Teams

  • Having the option to add users to multiple teams allows you to give all employees access to what they need. 

  • For example...
    • an employee works in both sales and customer service and requires access to both teams landing pages.
    • a sales rep works in various regions and needs access to leads/deals assigned to various teams.
    • a customer service rep needs access to various tiered levels of support/ tickets.

  • To get started, go to:
    • Setting > Users & Teams
    • Edit an existing user or create a new one
    • Under the user's name, click the 'Teams' dropdown
    • With this update, you'll now see a section for 'Additional teams' 


  • Each user can have up to 5 additional teams in addition to their primary team.
  • Being a member of an additional team gives a user access to the set of assets/records owned by or assigned to that team. Note that it does not make them eligible to be included in reports (e.g., deal attribution), routing (e.g., lead rotation), or notifications (e.g., send to all members of a team).
  • Additional teams are now available to all Professional and Enterprise HubSpot accounts, across tiers. 

Caller ID for iOS and an improved Caller ID for Android

  • Caller ID is now available on iOS AND its experience improved on Android

  • This not only prepares you for your call, but it helps you to build relationships faster since you can connect with them in a more dynamic way. 

  • For iOS - once you update your App on your phone, you'll have the option to enable Caller ID within Setting/More tab. Then it will pull info from the HubSpot CRM, not your phone's address book and logs will be saved on the iPhone. 

  • For Android - pretty much the same thing happens as above, but if you need help enabling it on your phone, see these instructions

New features for Caller ID in HubSpot:

  • Calls you receive from contacts in HubSpot will display the First Name, Last Name, Company Name, Deal Name and Amount associated with it.
  • HubSpot Caller ID instantly appears when you receive a call and uses the HubSpot Apps latest caching technology.
  • For missed calls, the App creates a notification so you can view it or return the call. 
  • Post calls, the App shows log notes, so you can stay on top of your follow-ups and lead nurturing to help close more deals.

The Links Tool Went Away on January 10th, 2020

  • This tool was used to track domains that link to your website and competitors sites.  
  • HubSpot is now recommending that you just use the Google Search Console 'Links Report'.
  • This report in Search Console is a great tool to check out who is linking to your website, what content on your site is receiving the most backlinks and more.

A Brand New SEO Recommendations Home

  • The SEO Recommendations tab is now official and out of the beta testing phase.
  • This is now the first tab under the SEO tool and the 'Topics' tab is second
  • The Recommendations tab is your go to tool if you want optimization tips for your website
  • They are categorized by 'low, medium and high' priority labels and you are given concise instructions on how you can improve the performance of your website in search next to each one

  • To get started, go to:
    • The recommendations tab within the SEO tool.
    • Choose which content host you’d like to see SEO recommendations for. Current content hosted on HubSpot will automatically display. To add a new content hosted outside of HubSpot, click the 'Add new URL' button.

  1. HubSpot updated the content editor for website pages, landing pages, and the blog editor. This makes content editing consistent across all content tools now, including email, and updates the tools for new features such as drag and drop page editing.

  2. HubSpot also made it easier to update global content without having to go into the design manager. With global content editing, you can now click into a global module or group in the page editor and make changes to global modules or global groups on the same page. You will still be able to review all the assets and pages that any given update will affect. In order to make changes to global modules or groups, you will need access to ‘edit global content.’ Users with design manager access will have ‘edit global content’ access by default. This setting can be turned on and off within user settings.
